BOOKING CONDITIONS
 
HOW TO BOOK
Please send a deposit of US$ 150 or AS$ 200 per passenger for each tour together with your signed booking form to Sherpa Trekking O R your local agent if booking through them. We will then send you a confirmation of your tour in writing. Once this is done the bookings becomes a contract between the client and Sherpa Trekking Service.
 
PAYMENT OF YOUR TRIP
Full payment must be made seven weeks (49 days) prior to the departure of your tour. If your booking is made after 49 days then full payment must be made. If you fail to pay by the due date we reserve the right to cancel your bookings and retain your deposit.
 
CANCELLATION FEES
Upon full payment or deposit payment if cancellations are made then the following cancellation charges will apply according to your time of cancellation as follows:
More then 7 weeks (49 days) prior to dept;
Loss of deposit US$ 150
 
48 days -29 days prior to dept :
Loss of 50% of total cost.
 
4 weeks (28 days) or less prior to dept:
Loss of 100% of total cost.
 
Penalties have been charged for cancellation because Sherpa Trekking Service will have made certain payments before the trek's departure. Such penalties are adopted in a similar form throughout the travel and tourism industry. Cancellation charges may be covered by your holiday insurance.
 
CHANGES TO ITINERARY
While every effort will be made to adhere to the planned route and timetable, it must be realised that with this type of adventure travel, changes to the itinerary may occur for which Sherpa Trekking Service cannot accept responsibility, regardless of how they may be caused.
 
HEALTH AND PHYSICAL FITNESS
We advise you to visit your doctor before your trip to examine your fitness and to advice you on the current inoculation requirements. Details of your health conditions must be forwarded with your bookings.
Our trek leaders will at all times do their utmost to ensure that all problems on the trek are solved for the benefit of the group as a whole. Agreeing to go on a trek with us signifies that you accept the trek leader's authority to make any decisions affecting the group or individuals. For instance, he may require an individual to abandon the trek if he believes that the person's health is at risk, he or she has committed an illegal act or his or her behaviour is determined to endanger the safety, enjoyment and well-being of the group as a whole. Should the leader require a member to leave the trek, that person will not be entitled to any refund.
 
HELICOPTER RESCUE
In case of mishaps on the trail or you fall sick due to any reason, it may be necessary to fly you out by helicopter so that you can get prompt medical attention. Only very basic medical care facilities are available in the mountains, if and where they are available.
A deposit of US$ 300 must be made to STS in Kathmandu before the departure of the trip, which is refundable after your trek in Kathmandu. In case of use of helicopter rescue client must make full payment in Kathmandu before departure to your country.
 
LIABILITY
As you well understand, there are certain hazards involved in adventure holidays. Sherpa Trekking Service will not be held liable for any uninsured losses sustained as a result of any mishap to yourself or your property. Nor can the company be made liable for the consequences or effects of strikes, industrial action, wars, riots, sickness, quarantine, government intervention, natural
calamities or any other unforeseen occurrences.
 
REFUNDS
Refunds are not made for unused services except those, which can be, recovered e.g., transportation cost. When making your bookings, it is implied and accepted that you have read and understood all these bookings conditions and agree to abide by them.
