Day 01. Paro -Jele Dzong
Distance - 67 Kms. Alt. 8500ft. Today is a short trekking day. The trail ascends gradually till the camp. If weather permits Paro valley can be seen with snowcapped mountains behind the valley.
       
Day 02. Jele Dzong - Jangchulakha
River side camp. Distance -10 Kms. (Alt. -9500ft). You begin with about an hour and halts climb. The trail takes you through thick alpine forests and Rhododendron trees. You may see Yak herders around your camp site
       
Day 03. Jangchulakha - Jimilangtso
Distance 11 Kms. (Alt. 11000ft). The trail follows the ridge. On a clear day beautiful views of the mountains and the valley. Camp near lake Jimilangtso. If lucky you might enjoy trouts for dinner.
       
Day 04. Jimilangtso - Simkota
Distance -11 Kms. (Alt. 11500ft). The trail leads through dwarf Rhododendron trees and then passes by lake Janetso. You might sight camps of Yak herders enroute. Camp near Simkota lake.
       
Day 05. Simkota - Phajoding
Distance -10 Kms. (Alt. 9500ft). The trail continues with a gradual climb. If weather permits beautiful views of Mount "Gangkhar Punsum" can be seen. Then slowly descend till Phojoding. Overnight in the trekking shelter or camp in tents.
       
Day 06. Phojoding - Thimphu
Distance - 78 Kms. (Alt. 8050ft). The trek to Thimphu is all the way downhill through an area forested with Blue pine. Taking it leisurely you reach Hotel Motithang in about 3 hours for a hot shower and a nice lunch. Evening at leisure.

Day 01. Bumthang - Nanglhakhang
The Trek route follows the Chamkharchu. Lunch stop at Thangbi Lhakhang - then enter the "Swan Land" (Ngang Yul) with its center "Swan Temple" (Nganglhangkhang). This part of the valley was at first inhabited only by swans who gave their name (Ngang) to the place. O/N in camp. Alt .9500 ft. Distance -20km about 5 hrs.
       
Day 02. Nganglhakhang - Ugyenchholing
Climb gradually to Phephela pass alt. 3353m/11000ft. The trial until the pass leads through one of the most beautiful forested areas of this region. Allowing for many stops to enjoy nature=s beauty. O/N in camp. alt. 9300ft. Distance - 23 KMS about 7I8 hrs.
       
Day 03. Ugyenchholing - Phokpey
Climb through bamboo, hemlock and finally up to the alpine forest. Overnight in camp. Alt. 11,500 ft. Distance -17 KMS about 5I6 hours.
       
Day - 4 Phokpey - Ungar
Continue upto Phokpeyla pass alt. 12,300 ft. Which takes about 1/2 an hour, then continue downhill through the gorge. Distance - 20 KMS about 6/7 hours.
       
Day 05. Ungar - Taskila
his trial winds up and down passing Drula village, and Khaine Lhakhang, one of the oldest in existence built in the mid 7 century A.D. by the 1st King of Tibet Tsong Tsen Gampo to subdue a demon. Alt. 6000 ft. Distance 21 KMS about 6/7 hours.
       
Day 06. Taskila - Lhuntshi
Drive up to Lhuntshi Guest house for lunch. After lunch at leisure. Overnight in Guest House or camp. Alt. 6000 ft.
NOTE: The actual Rodungla trek ends at Lhuntsi, the following route is part of the Dongla Trek
 
Day 07. Lhuntshi - Menji
Drive down to Kuri Zam and trek starts gradually up through the paddy fields and villages. Overnight in camp. Distance -16 KMS about 4/5 hours. Alt. 6000 ft.
       
Day 08. Menji - Pemi
Continue up through thick forests, overlooking mountain views. Camp under the shelter of the forest alt. cir 8000 ft. Distance -20 KMS about 617 hrs.
 
Day 09. Pemi - Taupang
Continue upto Dongla from where you can see all the high mountains. Descending through the thick evergreen forest till campsite. Alt. 8000 ft. Distance - 21 KMS about 6/7 hours.
 
Day 10. Taupang - Yangtsi
An early start for the last and longest day on the trek. Descend gradually till Yangtsi through Chirpine and hardwood forest. Overnight in camp. Distance - 24 KMS about 8/9 hrs.
