Day 01. Paro.
O/n Hotel Olathang. Trekking group assembles for briefing.
       
Day 02. Paro - Shana
Drive upto Drugyel Dzong where the road ends and the Trek begins, following the river gently uphill through a narrow agricultural valley passing by village houses. Camp is just beyond an army post. (Alt. 2800m), Distance -17 Kms about 5/6 hours.
       
Day 03. Shana - Sol Thangthangkha
Continue uphill through the river valley. It narrows and closes in and the trial winds up and down along the drainage. The trek is mostly downhill. Camp is in a meadow with a stone shelter built by BTCL for trekkers.
       
Day 04. S/Thangthangkha - Jangothang
Continue up the Pa Chu (river). Pass a small army post where the valley begins to widen again. Now views of high ridges and snow-capped peaks can be seen all around. You may see Yak herders winter homes. Camp beneath a ruined fortress at the base of Mt.Chomolhari. (Alt. 4040m), Distance 19 Kms about 5/6 hrs.
 
Day 05. Jangothang - Halt
Trek up to Tsophu for fishing or do any one of the three hiking excursions. Mt.Chomolftari and it's subsidiary are directly west, Mt.Jichu Drake is to the north, unclimbed summits and ridges to the east.
 
Day 06. Jangothang - Lingshi
Wide Yak pastures on the way up and down the pass, possibly encounter some nomads in their Yak tents depending on the time of year you are there. Great views of Lingshi Dzong as you come down into the Lingshi basin. Tserim Kang and its descending glaciers at the north end of the valley. Camp inside the stone shelter or in a tent. (Alt. 4150m), Distance -19 Kms about 5/6 hours.
 
Day 07. Lingshi - Halt
On this day, halt at Lingshi. A day excursion to Tsokha, the base camp of Jichu Drake. Large herds of Blue sheep, Musk deer may be seen. (Alt. 4500m), Distance -15 kms about 3/4 hours.
 
Day 08. Lingshi - Shodu
The trial ascends up to the Yalila pass (4820m). From the pass Mount Chomolhari, Tserim Gang and Mt.Masagang can be seen on clear days. Then descend for a while. Camp is in a stone shelter or in tents. (Alt. 3963m), Distance - 22 Kms about 7/8 hours.
 
Day 09. Shodu - Barshong
Follow the Thim-chu through the forest - Rhododendrons and water falls - it narrows and closes in and the trial winds up and down along the drainage. Ascending upto the ruins of Barshong Dzong. Camp just below the ruined fortress in a stone shelter built by BTCL. (Alt. 3785m), Distance -13 Kms about 3/4 hours.
 
Day 10. Barshong - Dolam kencho
Descend gradually down to meet Thimp-chu through forests of thick rhododendrons, ascend once again upto pasture land. Camp in a meadow. (alt. 3628m), Distance -11 Kms about 3/4 hours.
 
Day 11. Dolam Kencho - Thimphu
Continue up-hill through the forestto the small pass. The trial winds up and down along the drainage. Wild animals may be seen. At Dodina we meet the transportation. Distance -14 Kms about 4/5 hours. Overnight at Hotel Motithang.

Day 01 Paro - Shana
Drive upto Drugyel Dzong to the trek point. The route follows the river, leading gently uphill through a narrow cultivated valley, passing through a village. Camp in a meadow in a stone shelter.
       
Day 02 Shana - Sol Thangthangkha
Continue the ascent long the river path. The valley narrows and then closes in. The path descends for a while. Camp in meadow in a stone shelter.
       
Day 03 SIThangthangkha - Jangothang
Carry on up the Pa Chu river. Pass a small army post where the valley begins to widen again. Great views of the high ridges and the snow-capped Peaks. Yaks and winter homes of Yak herders. Camp at a ruined fortress at the base of Mt. Chomolhari. (Alt. 4040m), Distance -19 KMS about 5.6 hours.
       
Day 04 Jangothang - Lingshi
Wide open Yak pastures along the trek route. Weather permitting, great views of Lingshi Dzong as you descend to the Lingshi basin. Tserim Kang and its glaciers atthe north end of the valley. Camp is in a stone shelter or in a tent. (AIt.4150m), Distance -19 KMS about 5/6 hours.
 
Day 05 Lingshi - Chebisa
Today is the shortest walking day and you can take it easy. At Chebisa village you can visit the village houses. (Alt. 3850m), Distance -19 KMS about 5/6 hours.
 
Day 06 Chebisa - Shomuthang
The route leads through wild high pastures. Cross Gobula (La means Pass). (Alt,14268ft/4350m). Camp on a bench above the river, a tributary to the Mo Chu, flowing just below Gasa Tsachu. (AIt.4260m), Distance -17 KMS about 6 hours.
 
Day 07 Shomuthang - Robluthang
An early start today. After the Jarela pass (Alt.15088ft/4600m), descend to Tsharijathang, the valley where Takin are usually seen. O/N in camp. (AIt.14400ft), Distance - 15 KMS about 6 hrs.
 
Day 08 Robluthang - Lemithang
After crossing Shinglela pass (AIf.16072ft14900m) descend to follow the valley. Lemith2ng IS in the L8y8 district, pass by Laya villages. Camp beneath Kang Che Da, the Great Tiger Mountain. (AIt.13.567ft). Distance - 19 KMS about 6/7 hrs.
 
Day 09 Lemithang - Lays
The route descends along a closed-in winding river valley. The trail splits, one going down with the river. The other stays high leading to the west side of Laya village. Camp on a high flat bench above the east end of Laya Village. ON at camp. (Alt1268ft). Distance -10 KMS about 314 hrs.
 
Day 10 Laya-(Halt)
Visit the Laya village houses or hike above the camp.
 
Day 11 Laya-Koena
The trail winds up and down along the river valley. Views of the crashing river, feeder streams and waterfalls. Overnight in camp. (AIt.12628ft). Distance -19KMS about 7 hrs.
 
Day 12 Koena - Gasa
Cross Balala pass (AIt.374m112267ft). Then, the trail descends till the campsite, near Gasa Dzong. Alt. 9750ft. Distance -17 KMS about 617 hrs.
 
Day 13 Gasa - Gasa - Gasa Tsachu
Trek to Gasa Tsachu (Hot spring). After lunch relax in the Hot spring. Over night in camp.
 
Day 14 Gasa Tsachu - Geon Damji
After the climb away from Gasa Tsachu the trail winds through fields and villages. OIN camp. (Alt. 2280m). Distance - 21 KMS about 7 hrs.
 
Day 15 Geon Damji - Tashithang
The trail descends from the high agricultural benches above the Mo Chu into a lush semi-tropical gorge filled with banana trees, creepers and an occasional monkey. Camp at Tashithang. (AIt.560ft). Distance -17 KMS about 67 hours.
 
Day 16 Tashithang - Khuruthang / Punakha
Drive down the Punakha valley. ON at Hotel Zangtopelri.
