| The treks are graded according to a variety of factors
like altitudes covered, length of trek, degree of difficulty and the
numbers of hour of walking required each day. |

| Grade |
Description |
| Easy |
These treks are like an extended nature walk and anyone
can enjoy them. You won't be walking for more than 4-5 hours each
day and the trails don't exceed 2,000 m in altitude. These treks are
short and do not require much strenous physical exertion. The temperature
is generally pleasant. A reasonable level of fitness is required. |

| Easy Plus |
These treks involve walking about 5-6 hours a day. Maximum
altitudes do not exceed 2,999 m in Annapurna Region and 3,400 m in
the Everest region |

|
| Moderate |
These treks involve walking about 6-7 hours a day. Maximum
altitudes traversed are 4,000 m. These treks are designed for people
of average fitness. A moderate program of physical preparation is
required. |

|
| Moderate - Challenging |
On these treks, you will be walking at an average of
6 hours each day. The altitude will occassionally reach above 5,000
m. You have to be in very good physical shape and there will be some
really arduous days on the trail. A strong program of physical preparation
is required. |

| Mountaineering |
You will be travelling in very
remote mountainous areas and the trails sometimes reach altitudes
in excess of 5,400 m. The trek will involve crossing high mountain
passes and includes climbing a "treking peak" which is over
6,000 m in height. Participants should have basic mountaineering skill
and must produce a health certificate. Climbers should bring their
own climbing equipment. |
